Inspired to Give Back + Pay It Forward In Our Communities
PrettyLitter is on a mission to give back where it counts. We are constantly inspired by our ever-growing community members to lend a helping hand, donation, or even a truck full of litter when it helps out those in need. Let’s celebrate our partners who’ve played huge roles in our ability to give back.
Meet Our Amazing Partners
Humane Society of the US - Pets for Life
In partnership with HSUS’s Pets For Life program, PrettyLitter
donated nearly $110,000 worth of supplies to families in need.
Nearly 20 million pets live in poverty with their families in the
United States and the economic burden to care for those pets has
been intensified due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pets for Life helps
those families keep, and care for, their pets with access to
veterinary care and essential supplies.
With the economic impact of COVID-19, we are proud to partner with
HSUS to help give relief to families in need by providing an
essential product, litter, for free to as many homes as possible.
Marsha P. Johnson Institute
The Marsha P. Johnson Institute protects and defends the human
rights of Black transgender people through their efforts in
organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal,
and developing transformative leadership. The institute was
created to elevate, support, and nourish the voices of Black trans
community members across the diaspora, and we’re proud to back
this important work.
In honor of Marsha P. Johnson and the other BIPOC women, men, and
thems who have played a role in the freedoms we enjoy today,
PrettyLitter is privileged to be donating to the Marsha P. Johnson
Institute to help support and defend the black trans community.
The Rescue Train
The Rescue Train’s deep-rooted goals are to be a voice for animals and save as many lives as possible while cultivating and illuminating the human-animal bond. We fulfill our mission through our key initiatives: rescue and rehome, shelter intervention, dedication to spay and neuter, and collaboration with other like-minded organizations. We aim to drastically reduce the number of animals entering kill shelters and animals living on the streets of Los Angeles.

low-income veterans with pets in their program that provides a
sense of family and emotional comfort.

The Okra Project
The Okra Project is an American grassroots mutual aid collective
that provides support to Black trans, non-binary, and
gender-nonconforming people. In addition to bringing home-cooked,
healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black
Trans People, the Okra Project supports programs that execute
weekend training for kitchen skills, address food shortages, and
make connections in artistic spaces.
Over the summer, we were honored to give individually prepared
meals by sending Black Trans chefs to go into the homes of Black
Trans people to cook a healthy and home-cooked meal at absolutely
no cost to our Black TGNC siblings.
Heaven on Earth
The wonderful people at Heaven On Earth provide no-kill, cage-free
rescue facilities, adoption programs, spay/neuter clinics, and

Kitten Rescue LA
PrettyLitter is lucky enough to get to work with adorable talent
for our photoshoots! Although located in Hollywood (home of
professional actor cats), we take pride in partnering with local
rescue groups run by cat lovers to feature adoptable cats and
kittens! One organization that we had the pleasure of posing with
this year is Kitten Rescue LA.
Kitten Rescue LA a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted
to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens.
They also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for
communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to
manage and care for feral cat colonies.
The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue
The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue is able to provide wonderful services
through their 100+ volunteers who act as foster parents year round
to kitties in need. Currently, they are saving 500+ felines from
the L.A. city shelter system on an annual basis!! They are also
expanding their efforts in Virginia and Texas.
They additionally provided a batch of foster cuties for our most
recent shoot - plus one recently adopted by foster mom Jessica -
featured in the top image! This sightless kitten was full of
energy and confidence, and if he wasn’t already spoken for, he
would have gotten scooped up by a staff member.
The Cattery Cat Shelter
In the wake of the devastating 2017 hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and
Maria, PrettyLitter donated product to the Cattery Cat Shelter to
in Corpus Christi, Texas to help provide relief. The Cattery Cat
shelter is a no-kill, community-focused shelter that provides a
cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats while
seeking permanent homes.
The Cattery also provides free or deeply discounted spay/neuter
services for pet parents that can't afford traditional
Veterinarians and for those caring for feral cat colonies.
Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation
Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation is an organization
dedicated to giving every life a chance. This organization
specializes in providing medical care and supporting neonatal
at-risk kittens with debilitating or life-threatening conditions
who may not have otherwise been afforded the opportunity at life
due to high medical costs.
PrettyLitter partnered with Basepaws to support their inaugural
Cat Behavior Summit, which raised money for these special needs
kittens.
Best Friends Animal Society
We love the mission statement of Best Friends Animal Society, who
are actively creating a Sanctuary for homeless and special-needs
animals literally from the ground up, and creating a better world
through kindness to animals. It only made sense to donate to this
organization and support their efforts.
Best Friends Animal Society has a no-kill initiative, often throw
fun fundraising events, and have even built an animal sanctuary
(that you can tour virtually!).
Cat Cafe Lounge
PrettyLitter has partnered with the Cat Cafe Lounge, a local
non-profit organization, on several occasions. We love to support
their mission to reduce euthanizations by increasing adoptions
while socializing cats.
The moments facilitated through the Cat Cafe mean fewer cats at
risk of being euthanized, a cat-centric environment for the cats
to thrive, rehabilitation and socialization, and importantly,
helping guests feel welcome and open to adopting one (or two) of
the numerous resident adoptable cats.
International Fund for Animal Welfare
The International Fund for Animal Welfare is a global non-profit
helping animals and people thrive together through rescue,
rehabilitation, and releasing animals, and restoring and
protecting natural habitats.
PrettyLitter supported this wonderful organization during the
fierce California fires that were blazing this September. The
winds push them into new neighborhoods almost without warning,
endangering lives in a matter of minutes. Your donation is helping
us rescue and shelter pets and farm animals and helping organize
the response.
SPCALA
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles
(spcaLA) is an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization
serving Southern California since 1877. The spcaLA runs on the
belief that animals, as living creatures, have value beyond
economic measurement, and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical
consideration and protection.
Donations to the spcaLA run programs and services including
Cruelty Investigations, Disaster Animal Response Team, Violence
Prevention & Humane Education and a variety of shelter services.
Shanti/PAWS
PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support) Program, a program of the Shanti
Project, is San Francisco’s only program dedicated to preserving
the human-animal bond. Petchitecture is the signature fundraiser
for PAWS. Since 1987, PAWS has helped preserve, support, and
nurture the human-animal bond, believing that individuals facing
hardships should never be separated from their animal companions,
especially when they need them the most.
Funds raised comprise a key source of support for our companion
animal support services for low-income seniors and people living
with HIV, cancer, or other disabling illnesses in San Francisco.
